Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information DealsAstro (dealsastro.com, and the DealsAstro app) collects when you use it and what we do with it. In short: browsing needs no account and stores nothing about you; an account is optional and holds only what it needs; we never ask for payment details and we do not sell personal information.
Information we collect
- Your account, if you create one. Your email address, your name, and a bcrypt hash of your password (never the password itself). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address and, from Google, an avatar image instead of a password. We also keep what you do with the account — saved deals, followed categories and stores, alert settings — and the time of your last activity.
- Request data. Like every website, our servers receive basic technical data when you load a page: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for (including any search words you typed) and the time. Our hosting provider (Railway) and network provider (Cloudflare) process this data to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose problems.
- Page-view statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and measure how fast pages load. According to Cloudflare, it does not use cookies or other storage in your browser and does not fingerprint visitors.
We do not collect payment information: the site has no checkout. If you email us, we use your address only to reply.
Cookies
Without an account DealsAstro sets no cookies. When you sign in, a strictly necessary session cookie keeps you signed in; it holds no tracking data and is removed when you sign out. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a security cookie in rare cases, for example when it checks that a visitor is not an automated attack.
Account and alert emails
Account emails — the verification link when you sign up and the link when you reset your password — are delivered through Resend, our email provider, which processes your address to deliver them. Sign-in attempts are rate-limited by email address and IP address to protect accounts; those counters expire within a day.
If you follow categories or stores or save deals, we send a weekly email with what is new in them and price drops on your saved deals — at most one a week, and only when there is something new. You can turn it off on your account page or with the unsubscribe link in every such email. We keep a log of the emails we sent you (date, subject and the provider's message id, not the content) to answer delivery questions.
Push notifications
If you turn on notifications in the DealsAstro app, we store your phone's push token and its time zone with your account. We use them to send a few alerts a day at most, about hot new deals in what you follow and price drops on your saved deals, and only during the day on your phone's clock. Notifications are delivered through Expo's push service and Apple's or Google's notification service, which process the token to deliver them. You can turn them off in the app's Account tab or in your phone's settings; signing out on the phone or deleting your account removes the token. We keep a log of the notifications we sent you (date, text and the deals they named) to answer delivery questions.
Links to retailers
When you click a deal, you leave DealsAstro and go to the retailer's own website. Some of these links may be affiliate links, which carry a code telling the retailer that the visit came from DealsAstro. The retailer, or the affiliate network it uses, may set cookies of its own to record this. What they collect is governed by their privacy policies, not this one.
Product images
Product images are loaded directly from retailers' servers. As with any image on the web, those servers receive your IP address and browser details when an image loads.
How we use and share information
We use the information above only to run, secure and improve the site. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers named here, or when the law requires it.
Children
DealsAstro is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
You can use DealsAstro without an account. If you have one, you can see your details on the account page and delete the account at any time, on the account page, in the app, or at dealsastro.com/delete-account. Deletion permanently removes your account and everything saved under it from our servers, immediately. For any other question or request about your information, write to us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
